We were hired by a large mutual fund company to redesign their sites. The front end consumer side had already been done by the time I joined the team so I started the project going through the content of the entire site with my boss the Director of Information Architecture at this agency. Within a month of my time at the company the director quit to move onto his dream job leaving me to complete this large enterprise level site design on my own.
Taking what I had learned from him I moved forward with the sitemap and made sure to highlight the sections which required login. Then taking a cue from the design of the consumer site I followed a similar structure and built out the rest of the wireframes based on the content re-organization I had done under the direction of the director.
