This redesign of a German Appliance Company’s site. The site covers most European countries (ie 13 countries and 13 different languages). Within each country I noticed there were different items listed within those countries. For example, Turkey had a TV and a TV antennae. Whereas the UK didn’t have any of those items. Due to this, I did a card sort to get an idea of how users would search through the site for the various appliances. Would they think kitchen? Or cooking? Results were action orientated.
With navigation decided, I moved to page design. For the purposes of the portfolio, I will highlight a couple of the pages:
Search: Users visiting the site would either be searching for the products or for related items (ie user manuals, accessories, etc) because of this search items were placed into categories (products, product categories, accessories, documentation, etc).
Company History: This company has a rich design history and I wanted to highlight this as much as possible. I designed an interactive timeline that also connected the company history with events in time to help create a more intimate glimpse into time for the user.
